11th of March 2013 - EU Bans Animal Tested Cosmetics

Im soooo happeh today! Wanna know why?

Because:

If you're not swedish, this means 

"Countdown to historical succsess: EU bans animal tested cosmetics on the 11th of March 2013"

This actually means: 

• test cosmetic ingredients on animals anywhere in the EU, irrespective of whether there is a non-animal alternative method available (testing on the products themselves is already banned)

• sell or import into the EU cosmetics ingredients or products where they have been animal-tested after 11 March 2009, with the exception of certain types of test which have an extended deadline until 11 March 2013

Is it to good to be true? I sure hope not! Im so excited! Its not the end on meaningless testing, but it's a huge step!

Det är slut på djurtesterna för EU's del. Och inte ens importen av djurtestat smink får ta sig in. Det är inte slutet för de meningslösa testerna, men det är ett stort kliv i rätt riktning!
Det kan vara för bra för att vara sant, men det är bättre än inget!
